Traffic Conversion

Traffic conversion is a major problem that confronts and confounds a great many people.

Firstly, what exactly do I mean by traffic conversion?

It is getting the traffic (ie. people) you direct to your site, webpage, or even someone else s website you are sending traffic to, to complete the action you wish them to do.

Put more simply, getting the traffic to your website to buy, if you wish them to buy, or to click a link, download something for free etc.

The easiest way is to offer something for free. If you want their name and email address offer them something  in exchange. A free report, a free book, results of a survey etc.

If you wish someone to buy something, that is much more involved. To get high conversion rates you will need to pre-qualify your customers first.

Most of the people who visit your website will be looking for information, and may not be ready to buy anything. If you are paying for advertising that means you may be paying for 99 out of 100 people to visit your website and then leave, never to return. That’s a great deal of money wasted, and a quick way to go broke.

So you need to pre-qualify. Offer these visitors some free information in exchange for their name and email. You will end up with a list of people who have admitted to being interested in what you have to offer.

These people are now qualified. These people are the ones you email with more information and offers. You will end up with a much higher conversion rate than trying to cold sell.

It’s called the funnel effect.

A warning though – when you get people to sign up to your list, don’t bombard them straight away with offers. Keep the free info going to build a trusting relationship with your list.
