Overcoming Loss Of Momentum

I haven’t been posting too much for a while. I got to the point where I really couldn’t be bothered.

I had, well, not really enough, but was burnt out trying to find the time to learn everything and put everything I learned into practice.

So I stopped. Didn’t learn anything new, didn’t post, for a while didn’t do anything at all to advance my business.

After a few weeks I started Reading up on new ways to do things. About articles, SEO, copy-writing etc.

That”s when I had a though, just out of the blue. It hit me like a lightning bolt.

Like many people do when trying to earn online, I had been trying to do everything at once.

Write great ads that draw people in.

Write great article which are optimized for the search engines.

Write great emails that people cant resist.

Learn the latest way to do something.

Read and post on forums.

Trying to do all this and more had me spending 8 – 12 hrs on the computer and achieving very little.

This thought that hit me – I don’t need to do everything. I don’t need to cover every base.

Go back to basics. Do one thing, and learn to do it well. Doing one thing (seo, ppc, articles) well is much better than doing half a dozen things half arsed.

Spend a couple of hours doing one thing well, then learn how to do something else. Don’t worry about trying it until you think you’ve got the basic Idea of what you are trying to achieve, but just don’t worry about any other form of marketing until you have one form down pat.

Has anyone else had trouble with burnouts, information overload or just trying to do too much.

I would welcome any comments.
