Why do so many get sucked in by headlines like these… Simple. They are the answer to most peoples dreams.
People want to escape the rat race. They would love to work from home, spend more time with their wife/husbands/kids. Earn more money than they would ever have a hope of earning in their current job. Be able to take that dream holiday, buy the luxurious house, flash car, the list goes on and on.
Everyone would like an easier life. Earn more, work less, actually be able to live life without worrying about the next mortgage payment, car payment, or just bills in general.
Which is why people get sucked in with these flashy headlines. They make the dream seem possible. Better yet – they make achieving the dream seem easy.
Earn a full time income working only a couple hours a day? Easy. If some ex – dishwasher/waiter/cleaner/handyman/gardener etc can do it, so can I.
The problem lies in the fact that they conveniently forget to tell you (until after you’ve paid up) that you do have to work, and work hard, especially when starting out.
There can be a 6 month learning period (at least) when first starting an online business. You can be bombarded with information on different ways to promote your new business, so much so that you can waste a great deal of time and money trying to learn everything just so you can choose which method to use.

Understand that an online business is a business. It’s not a hobby, something to do in your spare time when you are bored from surfing the net. (Treat it like a hobby and it will pay you like a hobby). Do your research, do your due diligence, take the time to investigate, and don’t believe the hype.
Working from home can work, it can be a great lifestyle, and a great income. But you do have to work at it. Don’t just get sucked in by the pitch, or the hype. Most people don’t start earning straight away, especially enough to give up their day job.
There are some who have, but they are also the ones who may have tried for awhile, then switched companies and put what they have learned over time to good use. You just never hear about the last 10 years of failure.
