If wasting your time does not appeal to you, then here are 5 top ways designed to not waste time ie be more efficient.
Hopefully you will have a plan of action in place. They’re very helpful in keeping you on course.
Whatever you are doing, whether it’s network marketing – trying to recruit others into your company and/or sell your companies product, affiliate marketing – promoting whatever products you choose to, you do need to decide on how you will promote/advertise/inform people about your company and/or products. ie a plan of action.
It can be by social media, networking on forums and blogs, placing ads with the multitude of free or very cheap advertising pages, articles, press releases or with a PPC campaign.
To start with you only need ONE method. The trick is to be consistent. Don’t start your campaign, keep at it for a week then don’t go back to it till 5 weeks later.
When you sit down at your computer continuing your plan of action should be the only thing on your mind. Or even before you turn your pc on. If you are writing articles or ads write a rough draft down on some paper first. See how it looks and sounds and try to improve it. Then turn your pc on and get to work.
My top 5 ways designed to not waste your time.
1. Check emails in your own time, not work time. Unless you are expecting an important email, something that can’t wait, your emails will still be there at the end of the day. If like me, you have subscribed to a few lists, the simple act of checking your emails at the end of the day can save you 2 hours. No matter how urgent the email may sound, no matter how many have the headline “URGENT OPEN NOW” or “URGENT ONLY 1 HOUR LEFT”, believe me, they can wait.
2. Don’t bother checking your payments. If you have been paid it will still be there when you have finished your plan of action for the day. If you haven’t sold anything or recruited anyone checking you payments will not magically make money appear.
Instead, check the results of what you have been doing. See if anyone has been reading you articles or clicking on your ads. That will give you an idea of whether it is working or if you need to improve on it.
a tip… check on what the competition are doing. You don’t want to write an ad/article/review that sounds or reads like everyone else’s. You do want yours to stand out from the crowd.
3. Doing more training is a good idea, but only after you have finished what you have set yourself to do that day. Whether this training is provided by your company or if it is a book or course that you have purchased doesn’t matter. What matters is that you continually try to improve what you are already doing.
another tip… continue your training in the one method that you have chosen. Keep at it until you have mastered it. If you have chosen to write articles, it is pointless and a waste of time to train up on how to do video marketing unless you have mastered the art of writing articles. Don’t waste time learn how to do 5 methods half-arsed. Master 1 method, then train yourself on another one.
4. Take regular SHORT breaks. Every hour or so take a 5 – 10 minute break. Or even after you have completed every action that you have set for yourself. Don’t work for 3 hours then take a 45 minute break. That is just inviting distraction. It could very well take another 20 -30 minutes to get yourself back on track.
5. Once you have completed your actions for the day, before you do anything else, write down your plan of action for tomorrow. What do you intend to accomplish the next day?
NOW you can go do some more training, check you emails, phone a friend. You may have just worked 2 hours or 10 hours, but you didn’t just have a plan of action in place, you actually IMPLEMENTED it.
third tip… implement is a very powerful word. Anyone can make a plan of action, not everyone will implement it. Those nine letters is all that stands between a dreamer and a do’er. Between success and failure. Between a life you desire and another 40 years of working for the “man”.
Make sure you treat that word with the respect it deserves.
